C.R. Laurence V1E180SB Satin Brass Vienna 180 Series Glass-to-Glass Hinge offers a robust solution for heavier shower doors, accommodating glass thicknesses from 3/8″ to 1/2″ (10 to 12 mm). Designed with two steel pins, this hinge can adapt to various mounting styles, making it versatile for both “mouse-ears” cut-outs and rectangular cut-outs. With a maximum holding capacity of 110 lbs. (50 kg) when using two hinges, or 140 lbs. (63 kg) with three, it supports doors up to 36″ (914 mm) in width. The hinge swings 90 degrees in and out, featuring a self-centering mechanism when within 15 degrees of the closed position. Each hinge includes a reversible pivot pin, providing options for tighter closures with a pre-set angle of 85 degrees or standard 90 degrees. Custom pivot pins are also available for unique installation angles, up to 45 degrees. Crafted from solid brass and finished in elegant satin brass, the Vienna hinge is not only durable but also aesthetically pleasing. CRL Vienna Hinges are the solution for wider, heavier doors that traditional hinges are not strong enough to support. Two strategically placed steel pins inside the hinge provide template options, and satisfy two schools of thought for mounting shower door hinges. For the safety of “mouse-ears” type cut-outs, the two steel pins should be left in place. This allows the Vienna Hinge to be used with it’s own CRL “mouse-ears” cut-out. On the other hand, to enable increased adjustability, the two pins can be removed. This allows the Vienna Hinge to fit it’s own CRL rectangular shaped, square cornered cut-out. In some cases, it will also fit competitive rectangular shaped, square cornered cut-outs.
STANDARD REVERSIBLE PIVOT PIN: Each Vienna Hinge contains a Reversible Pivot Pin. One side of the Pin is marked at 90 degree. The opposite side of the Pin is marked 85 degree. Standard Vienna Hinges come with the 90 degree side activated. Pre-Set Models come with the Pin pre-set for 85 degree (5 degree tighter closure into shower interior). The Pin can be rotated (not flipped upside down) to activate the other side.
CUSTOM PIVOT PIN: Custom Pivot Pins are available to accommodate “off-angle” installations. As an example, you may encounter a wall that will not meet your door at 90 degree. If the standard 5 degree Pivot Pin contained in the hinge does not assist in closing the door to the position desired, you may specify the angle needed for a Custom Pivot Pin (up to 45 degree).
Using two hinges with 3/8″ to 1/2″ glass (10 to 12 mm) the hinge will hold up to 110 lbs. (50 kg) with a maximum door width of 36″ (914 mm).
Using three hinges with 3/8″ to 1/2″ glass (10 to 12 mm) the hinge will hold up to 140 lbs. (63 kg) with a maximum door width of 36″ (914 mm).
